Got a question? A tech confession? A victory story to share?
Here’s the thing. We love hearing from readers more than we love complaining about software updates. And that’s saying something.
Ways to reach us:
Email: hello@theoldme.online
Our team actually reads every email. Really. Sometimes it takes a few days to respond (especially when email apps decide to “update” themselves again), but we read them all.
What to email us about:
- Product suggestions you’d like us to test
- Tech questions that are driving you crazy
- Success stories that made you proud
- Mistakes that made you laugh (or cry)
- Requests for topics you’d like us to tackle
Reader mail that makes our day:
“Team, my granddaughter and I successfully video called yesterday. For 45 minutes! The old me would have needed three people and a manual. Thank you for showing me it wasn’t impossible, just intimidating.” – Carol, 68
“Your smartphone review convinced me to finally upgrade from my flip phone. Setting it up was exactly as complicated as you warned, but now everyone can see why people are obsessed with these things.” – Harold, 74
“Forwarded your ‘Cloud Storage, Explained’ article to the entire bridge club. Two of them have already started backing up their photos. You’re doing important work here.” – Margaret, 71
Want to test products with us?
We’re always looking for real seniors to help test products. No tech experience required. In fact, confusion is preferred.
If you’re over 60, live in the real world, and don’t mind sharing honest feedback about whether something actually works, drop us a line.
A few ground rules:
We can’t provide individual tech support. We wish we could, but if our team spent all day troubleshooting everyone’s Wi-Fi problems, we’d never get any writing done. For specific tech help, start with the manufacturer’s customer service (we know, we know) or ask a tech-savvy friend or family member.
We don’t recommend products we haven’t tested. If you’re asking about something we haven’t reviewed yet, we’ll add it to our testing list but can’t give you a quick recommendation.
Response time varies. We try to respond within a week, but sometimes life happens. Or technology breaks. Or someone accidentally deletes the entire inbox. It’s a journey.
The best way to stay connected?
Join our weekly newsletter. Every Thursday, we share the latest reviews, tech tips, and reader stories. Plus the occasional rant about why everything has to be so complicated these days.
Social media? We’re working on it.
The old us thought social media was for teenagers and people with too much time on their hands.
The new us is slowly figuring out that it’s actually pretty useful for building community and sharing quick tips.
You can find us on Facebook at [The Old Me Community] where readers share their own tech victories and help each other figure things out.
One more thing…
If you’ve made it this far, you’re exactly the kind of person this site was built for. Someone who doesn’t give up easily. Someone who’s willing to learn new things, even when they’re frustrating.
The old you might have felt intimidated by technology.
But the new you? The new you is here, reading this, ready to take control of your digital life.
And that’s pretty amazing.
Thanks for being part of this journey.
P.S. If you’re a tech company executive reading this and wondering why your “senior-friendly” product got a harsh review, the answer is simple: it wasn’t actually senior-friendly. Make better products, and you’ll get better reviews. We’re not asking for miracles here, just common sense and basic respect for your customers.
